About Me:

I'm a 35 year old, married mother of two who is unnaturally crazy for the show Supernatural. My poor hubby and two small kids think I have lost my mind because I take my show very seriously (shh, don't talk--Sam and Dean are on). I've been married for about 16 years now and we have a boy (9) and a girl (5) as well as numerous pets. Above and beyond all, my family is my life. I think my strong passion for and dependence on my family is one of the reasons I love Supernatural and especially the character of Dean. That family loyalty and brotherly love is the crux of what makes Supernatural so enjoyable for me to watch.

Even though I enjoyed writing during my junior high/high school years, I consider myself a novice at it because I didn't get much of a chance to perfect my creative writing skills during my college years and for several years thereafter--long story I won't bore you with--so bare with me and my amateur fumbling. However good or bad I am at it, coming back to writing after so many years has been a real blessing to me.

I graduated from college with a Bachelor's in Art Education K-12, but quickly decided smaller class sizes and structure was a better fit for me and jumped ship for a career in Special Education. Presently, I'm teaching Special Education classes in Science and Communication Arts for 6-8th grades where a I share a classroom with my sister. Oh, yeah, every day is an adventure!

The other shows that I have been completely engrossed in are Early Edition, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the late great Farscape. Currently, I also enjoy House, Psych, Heroes and The Dead Zone. However, only Supernatural has been an inspiration to actually write fan fiction.

Dean is quite obviously my favorite of the two brothers and I love to see his layers in the show--or his anything, really. I love Sam, too, but there is something extra special about Jensen's portrayal of Dean that just draws me completely in--maybe it's Jensen's facial expressions, the way he does angsty-broken so well, or the depth of his character? Okay, it doesn't hurt that I'm a sucker for green-eyed men (my husband and I both have green eyes, too) and think he's the most gorgeous man I've ever laid eyes on, tee-hee. My favorite kind of character has always been the tortured hero who is willing to sacrifice himself/herself for their loved ones. If I seem to gravitate that way, don't be surprised.

Also, I am NOT a weekly updater because I do have a busy family life that includes school-age kids (I mention school age because even at their young ages they have homework), very close ties to my extended family, several pets and a full-time job--so please forgive me if I take a couple of weeks or more to get new chapters up (and did I mention I may have a touch of ADD--yes, I can relate to the kids I teach, lol).

My favorite things to do (besides watch Supernatural and stare longingly at Jensen ;) ) include: camping, making fan art/fan vids, photography, horticulture/gardening, reading, watching movies, listening to music, spending time "in nature" and last, but not least, spending time with my family. My favorite published author at this time is Nicholas Sparks and, yes, I own nearly all that he has written and he always manages to make me cry (dang you, Sparks!). However, if I had to pick ONE fictional book, I'd have to say my favorite would have to be Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells. It made me laugh and cry and sometimes both at the same time. I also enjoy sci fi fantasy/fantasy fiction books (Terry Brooks or Tolkien, anyone?), the dreaded romance novel (stop rolling your eyes at me), and I have a real soft spot for John Grisham's Skipping Christmas.

The books are just so much better than the movies to me. Yes, even the Star Wars series. Wore the cover of Return of the Jedi right off--literally.

Just in case you have a curious mind like I do, I thought I would share the story behind my pen name. I chose November'sGuest for two basic reasons. One, my daughter and I both have birthdays in November and, two, My November Guest by Robert Frost is one of my favorite poems. I love his work and I love Autumn (my favorite season). Plus, I'm a bit of a sucker for angst ridden anything since I gravitate toward the dark and depressing.

Lastly, most authors are slaves to reviews and I'm no exception, so when you finish reading a story, please leave me a blurb on what you thought--I need all the encouragement I can get. Happy reading to you all and God bless!

WARNING: I will do my best to make sure Sam and Dean sound like Sam and Dean and seem canon, but one of the reasons I enjoy writing fan fiction is so I can explore my dreams and bend things the way I want them to be--which means I'm not obsessed with making my stories sound exactly like an actual episode, just so you know. I'm a self-professed hurt!Dean addict and I do like whumping on him, expect plenty of that. Also, I enjoy angsty Dean with some emotion--my version of what I see gleaming through the TV screen--and I dig the emo to a certain extent (loved season two Dean). The only other thing you need to know is that I'm totally into brotherly love and loving both brothers (my stories are GEN ;) ).

For updates on how my current story is coming along, please follow the link to my LJ where I will share where we're at, other non-writing projects and what I've planned for the future (see homepage for LJ link).
