Dean is staring at the spot Castiel had occupied five minutes ago.  A whirlwind of emotions flowed through him.  From seeing his Father alive again, convincing a young John Winchester to purchase a classic car, meeting his Grandparents, seeing his Mother...

And then the yellow eyed bastard who had taken it all away.

Tears burned in his eyes and his stomach flopped making him nauseous.  He witnessed the death of his Grandparents and the sealing of the deal his Mom had made.  Dean rushed into the bathroom, making it just in time to expel what little he had eaten during the day.

Taking a few calming breaths, Dean leaned back against the wall.  He needed to find Sam because whatever his little brother was doing, it couldn't be healthy and Dean had a feeling it had something to do with Ruby.

She made him even more nervous now. Dean didn't like her before but something about her... he just couldn't put his finger on it...

A bright flash and wailing, screaming. Being stabbed with hot iron spikes all over.  Dean screamed and suddenly snapped back to reality.  He gasped out and leaned over the toilet again.  "Oh God," he breathed.  "why do I have to remember what happened?"

No answer came from the man who had supposedly ordered him pulled from the depths of Hell.

The shrill of Dean's cell phone snapped him back to reality and he reached into his pocket.  Glancing at the caller ID, he saw Bobby's name.  The man had taken it upon himself to check in with them every morning.

Dean took a deep breath to calm his nerves before answering.  "Hey Bobby!" he said attempting to keep his voice from shaking.

"You okay, Dean?" he asked.

And suddenly Dean couldn't hold it together and stood up, holding to the sink to keep himself from keeling over.  "Sam's gone. I gotta go after him."

"What?  Dean, you sure you're okay?"

He could hear the worry and fear in Bobby's voice and that grounded him.  It let him know that he wasn't alone here despite the fact that Sam seemed so distant and withdrawn.  Not that Dean could really blame his brother for that.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Dean lied.  "Gotta go, Bobby."

Dean felt bad for hanging up on Bobby, but right now he had to go after Sam before he did something stupid.  With determination, Dean grabbed his coat and ran out the door.
