If only I didn't have a roommate. Then I could laugh and cry and strum out one of those old tunes that makes you happy and sad at the same time.

I honestly think I may like this better than the way the show went... I miss the bond, the trust, the family. There's been enough pain. It's time for a few fragments of peace. Maybe even joy.

Ow, ow, ow. Taking out hooks = SUCH a bad idea. There are so many veins and arteries in your wrists, if you severed them you would lose sooo much blood. If you leave it in you can live for quite a while (crucifixion victims often lasted days, the poor bastards), but pulling it out, particularly when it’s probably barbed because it’s fucking Lilith, is a terrible call. Of course, he’s desperate, semi-conscious and in excruciating pain, so it’s pretty clear why that’s not where his head is at.

Good job with the immobile fingers. Something in your wrists would really fuck up your tendons. Probably fractured a few carpels too. Damn, that would hurt like a bitch once the shock wore off.

^ the fucked up things you pay attention to when you’re in premed.

So anyway, THAT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!!!

Seriously, how did you even come up with that?! The imagery was just brilliant! From the mangled lego bodies, to the chain holding the boys together, to the mental desert, just bloody brilliant!

I found it so interesting that the black and white wings were reversed. The original did that too with Lucifer often being in white, but it was more pronounced here, so I thought I would point it out.

Most of all, DA FEELS! I'm not even a big into fluff, but they have every right to hug and cry after that one.

Gya, I'm rambling. Anyway, excellent.

OMC (oh my Chuck), THIS IS FANTASTIC! Not only is it a terrific read, but completely plausible!

I was all into the Winchester feels, then "That is one fine ass!"

I nearly peed myself.

Hi

 Interesting ideas and plot.

Your characterizations are good and your dialogue and language are nicely in line with the tv show.

One note.  The phrase you use, "a fresh balsam chasing away Dean’s fears" you might just want to fix that.

A balsam is a kind of tree.  You likely meant a balm.  Sometimes reading the chapter over from the end to the beginning, once sentence at a time can help you spot words like that, which are out of place.  Because when we are reading backwards, we are making out each sentence, not presuming what will come from what has gone before.  This makes it easier to find words that the spell check has helped us wrongly with.

All the best

Sly

Aww - such a cute ending! I love Dean's mystery "kid" visitors, and Castiel's goodbye scene.

"feelings of worry about something happening to the boy on his watch competing with the dreadful knowledge that he would have to call John and tell him he'd lost his son." - Poor Bobby - I suppose that last one would be enough to strike holy terror in anyone, lol

Thanks for the great story!

This was great! I knew Dean would turn out to have some kind of angel connection!

"He never saw the black wings that had formed above his hunched figure. He never saw the shadow of a second body behind his. He never saw the flaming sword in the hands of the beautiful being at his back, nor the way it smiled at Lucifer like they were old friends, brothers.
Dean never saw the beginning of the second battle between Lucifer and Michael." - Awesome! I love the way you deal with imagery in the Lucifer/Michael passages.

"This wasn’t Lucifer. This wasn’t Sam. This was his leap of faith." - Ahhhh, I love that line. The whole desert scene was very good - Sam was a bit off from the beginning, just too whiny and self-pitying, and it was gratyfing when Dean figured it out.

Author's Response: Thank you sooo much! You've been my faithful reviewer over here and I thank you for that and for your kind words :X

Wow, what a showdown! I love what you did with the idea of Dean as a "Nancy-like" victim. By the time Sam was going down to that room, you had me completely on the edge of my seat. I also like that little Castiel interlude.
I can't wait to see how it all plays out!

Ever more curious about what's up with Dean's "freak-speak" (lol!); I can't wait to see what he and Bobby have planned, and what Ruby wants Sam to do. It can't be anything good. Loved that bar scene, btw; evil seductive Ruby was very well done.

I can't wait for the next chapter, this story is awesome and so complicated-I love it

So the amulet is some sort of anti-Latin device? And it's got to do with Dean's first visit at Bobby's? Now you've got me really curious! After all, with all the occult things lying around in that house, there's plenty for a kid to meddle with. Hmm...

I like your elaboration on the John/Elkins/Dean connection, especially that Elkins recognized Dean. Can't wait to see what Castiel meant with "Because that is what he was born to do.” Laughed at the image of him angelically-magically changing the tires - though that angel better go and feed those poor starving fishes now, or Dean might need to paint his wings pink yet! lol

“Oh, he does… he really, really does,” Dean fumed. “And he really would like to know what the fuck you two are talking about!” - Hee, I love Dean's outrage at being "talked about" in that way

"He is nothing but meat on a hook to them. He has no eyes. He has no ears. He has no mouth. Sometimes he doesn't even have a face." - that hell scene is truly terryfying. I like it!

oh my god!!!these are a lot of things!!and the ending here??oh god,I'm confuse...

amazing!

First off: Phew, Bobby's alive *wipes sweat off brow* Then again, I guess it isn't over yet...

Great confrontation! I can understand that Sam's mad at Dean for keeping that secret, but I still want to give him a good shake now. Really, trusting Ruby over Dean... Listen to your brother, Sam! *sigh*

And - ooh! Dean got to read Ruby's mind! Or rather, that poor, possessed woman's (no coma girl for evil!Ruby, it seems). Loved that twist.
So I guess she was the "ride" that demon kept talking about? Or maybe she was Lilith's back-up plan.

"or maybe he was getting drunk and paranoid at the same time." - hee

Poor Dean. He's going to be a mess.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for all your wonderfull reviews! It's so good to know what people are thinking of it chapter by chapter :D

Name: VelvetGreen (Signed) · Date: December 18, 2008 05:04 pm · For: Chapter 7
The conversations between Bobby and Dean inside Bobby's head were great, especially the first one, and I love that Bobby basically performed an exorcism on himself. I also like that first John paragraph. But - arrgh! No! You can't kill Bobby! /Sam/ can't kill Bobby!

Name: VelvetGreen (Signed) · Date: December 18, 2008 04:36 pm · For: Chapter 6
Dean has been a psychic all along? I so wasn't expecting that! And lol to Bobby's dry walls.
That is going to be one interesting conversation - but first, to find out what awaits Dean behind that door...

Author's Response:

'Bobby's dry walls.'

It was either that or soft porn... figure Bobby was more the architecture kind of guy.

Name: VelvetGreen (Signed) · Date: December 18, 2008 03:57 pm · For: Chapter 5

So now it's off after Lilth! That warehouse scene was very disturbing, and a creepy new take on where that virus comes from. Poor Dean is really starting to fall to pieces... I love your concerned!Sam.

"‘Do I even have coffee?’" - I also love Bobby.

Name: ilaria (Signed) · Date: December 18, 2008 12:31 pm · For: Chapter 8

I hate that woman,I won't never trust her and sam is doing a huge mistake and I hope he'll realize that what he has done to his brother now was horrible

great story,I can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Thank you!

Name: VelvetGreen (Signed) · Date: December 17, 2008 03:35 pm · For: Chapter 4
Oh, I so love this! So Dean's starting to remember hell now... It's not as if he didn't have enough to deal with already, lol. I'm curious about that angel/wing thing in the hell memory, and even more curious why Castiel/the angels want him to remember.
And, ooh, I just noticed that Sam hasn't met Castiel yet here...

Author's Response: Yeah, some differences between this story and the series start to come out now and in the next chapters. Sam doesn't know Castiel, he has no idea that Dean went back in time and knows about the demon-kids. Also, in here, Dean still doesn't have his full memories from Hell.Thank you for the review!
